These include notification that you have a message from a fellow enthusiast, notification of an interest in your vehicle or expertise, reminders about your membership expiry date, notification on an interesting new feature and guides on how to use the service. We classify this type of email as a Service Email. Examples of the Service Emails you will receive in order to help you use the website most effectively are shown below:

  • Validation email – used to verify your email address when you first register.
  • Payment receipt – sent to you if you upgrade to ‘Full Membership'.
  • Renewal notices – remind you to renew your Membership (Standard/Full).
  • Automatic ‘Full Membership’ renewal alerts – if you have selected automatic renewal of your Full Membership we will alert you before this happens.
  • Key service messages – if we need to notify you of changes to the website or related services.
  • New message notification and reminders – messages you receive from fellow enthusiasts.
  • Service suspension notices – in order to ensure a good service and avoid any offence we do monitor member activities (particularly uploaded images) and will remove service from anyone who breaks the rules.

2. The information we gather and track.

When you register for The Classic Car Show website and services, you provide your name, one or more category listings on the The Classic Car Show Service (e.g. Marque of interest), your email address, and some optional notes about yourself (referred to as "Registration Information"). This information is available to you, and can be amended, through the “Account Details” page.

Please Note - we limit the amount of personal information we hold to the very minimum required to provide a useful service. We do not, for example, store full postal addresses or telephone numbers of Members unless it is to their advantage, such as Trade, Dealer or Club contact details.

3. Cookies.

Cookies are small files placed on the hard drive of your computer to assist us in providing our services. A cookie is sent by us when you visit The Classic Car Show and can only be accessed and used by us. Each cookie has an expiry date that determines how long the cookie lasts. Cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, however, when you sign-in, the cookie may be combined with personal information that you have given us as part of the registration process. At The Classic Car Show we use cookies in several ways to improve our services. Please be aware that we only use cookies when absolutely necessary.

Examples of how we use cookies:

  • To hold a Member’s login information so that your category listings are displayed when you visit The Classic Car Show service. This option can be turned off by switching the "Remember Your Password" option to "No" at the time of input.

  • To facilitate optimal use of The Classic Car Show service by Members, by using temporary "session cookies”. This means the cookies are automatically deleted from your hard drive once you end your session (log out or close your browser).

In addition, we may use an independent measurement and research service. These services use cookies and code on the site to gather non-personal data regarding the number and frequency of visitors to our site. The cookies and associated code allow the service to gather general site statistical information (rather than personal information) relating to the number of visits to pages on the site, the duration of individual page view, paths taken by visitors through the site and other general information. The Classic Car Show uses this information to help improve the services it provides its Members. If we choose to use any of these services we will provide a link to the service’s privacy policy four weeks in advance of the service commencing. Third party cookies may be used on some parts of the site. These are used for tracking the success of marketing campaigns. These cookies are usually permanent.

    The over-riding principles we apply:

  • We, and (where relevant) our credit card processing agents, will not supply your personal data to a third party for commercial exploitation. We will not, for example, sell the list of Members’ email addresses to a third party.

  • The only circumstances under which we will provide any of your personal data to a third party for non-commercial purposes are those contained in this Privacy Policy. When you post a message, the ‘Alias’ that you are posting under is visible to other users.

If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties.

4. Registration Information.

Once a Member selects a Marque or other category listing, the Registration Information held for that Member (except the email address) will be available to, and searchable by, users of The Classic Car Show Service.

  • Emailing through The Classic Car Show service. We do not make your email address directly available to any individual on any screen of The Classic Car Show Service. The only legitimate way of making contact with a fellow enthusiast found on The Classic Car Show service is for a Member/Exhibitor to enter a message that we then store on behalf of the receiving Member. We will notify the receiving Member (using the email address he/she has provided us with) that The Classic Car Show is holding a message for him/her. The Member can then check the database outline for the email when logged in to The Classic Car Show service. In order to retrieve the message in its entirety you need to be a “Full Member”. Members may check and (if required) change the email address we hold for them at any time via the “Account Details” page. Members’ personal notes must not include their email address. Sent and received emails may appear in a Member’s Inbox on The Classic Car Show Service for an indefinite period - we do not delete it after a specific period. However, this does not mean that we will retain your email forever; there may come a time when we need to delete some, or all, of it for technical or other reasons. In this event, we will endeavour to give you advance warning.

  • Credit Card information. Please Note - No credit card information or any other financial detail about site users is held by The Classic Car Show (with the exception of payment due dates). To ensure confidentiality all credit card details are handled securely and SSL encryption is employed to protect the data as it is passed through to the card payment gateway.

Our credit card payment processor, Worldpay, has a well-established credit card payment gateway service providing secure internet payment transactions. They operate a secure server to process our credit card payments, encrypt Members’ credit or debit card information and authorise payment directly. No credit card details are revealed to us. Worldpay may transfer to, process and hold your credit card information in countries within or outside of the European Economic Area in connection with the performing of their duties.

  • Related websites in the aaReM Ltd stable. We may share data supplied by you (or collected about you) with our associate companies and other websites in our stable, but only for the purposes described in this Policy.

  • Changes in The Classic Car Show's business. If all the assets which The Classic Car Show uses to operate its business (or substantially all of them) are acquired by a third party, we may transfer personal data we hold at that time to that party to enable them to continue providing The Classic Car Show service.

  • Place of processing. The personal information held by us is stored on and processed by computers situated in the United Kingdom.

5. Security.

We have security measures in place on our website to ensure that any personal data input onto the site is protected against loss, misuse or alteration. However, it remains each Member's responsibility to:
  • Avoid sharing his/her password and to keep it secret.
  • Protect against unauthorised access to his/her details.
  • Ensure no other party uses The Classic Car Show service on that Member’s machine while it is "logged on" to The Classic Car Show Service.
  • Log off or exit from The Classic Car Show service when not in use.
  • Whilst we have taken all the steps we can to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security due to the inherent risks of the Internet. We cannot, therefore, be held responsible for any harm that may be suffered due to a breach of security when the website is used.

6. Removing yourself from the The Classic Car Show Service.

You may have your registration details removed at any time. To remove yourself please email the site administrator here and your details will be removed within one working day.

7. Disclosure for legal reasons.

We may, occasionally, be required under law to disclose the limited personal information that we hold on a Member. We reserve the right to communicate such information to third parties who seek its disclosure, but only if the request has been validated and is legally compliant.

If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, the practices of The Classic Car Show Service, or your dealings with The Classic Car Show, please contact us here. You may also use this address to request from The Classic Car Show a copy of the personal data we hold about you or a description of that data. Please note that by law we are entitled to charge a small sum for providing this information.

8. Advertising.

The Classic Car Show service may include interactive advertising for other businesses. In order to target this advertising more accurately we may use, or provide to third parties, anonymous demographic data provided by Members.

9. Market Research.

We do not intend to carry out any direct market research as we believe this is a primary cause of unsolicited contact and goes against our privacy strategy. We may, however, require your assistance to tailor a new service more accurately to your needs but this will only be via the website and on a voluntary basis.

10. Links to third party sites.

The Classic Car Show service contains links to other sites. Neither aaReM Ltd nor The Classic Car Show is responsible for the privacy practices, or the content, of those websites.
