Description

The Jaguar Mk II was produced in 1959. Derived from the then popular MK I the MK II offered three engine sizes, 2.4 litres, 3.4 litres and a 3.8 version. Vintage Classics (see www.vintage-classics.co.uk) has on offer a 1967 3.4 MK II with a manual gearbox with overdrive. The 3.4 with its smooth power delivery is considered by many to have the best engine. Often described as the ‘Morse mobile’ it is easy to understand why Inspector Morse, from the popular television series, used a MK II as his daily form of transport. A change from the days when the MK II was the choice for bank robbers. Please note that if the car is hired to carry out a bank robbery an additional fee will be chargeable.

Modifications

The smell of leather and wood make the driving experience unique in today’s world. Even modern cars with leather interiors and walnut dashboards do not have the same ambiance. Even before the ignition key is turned there is a huge amount of pleasure to be gained just by sitting and admiring the interior. As with all Jaguars of this era it is a real head turner and soon has many admirers. Vintage Classic's car is one of the last MK II’s to be built before the model became the 340. This means that it has the large chrome bumpers full synchromesh gearbox and a full leather interior as standard. The car also benefits from the optional chrome wire wheels which really set it off.
