Description
| Most early post-war cars were deary "warmed up" left overs from 1939,many hestily re-entering production to earn their makers urgently needed foreign currency.One happy exception was the Jowett Javelin,first shown by the bradford based company in 1947.The Javelin combined modern aerodynamics styling, torsion--bar suspension and rack and pinion steering,making it a good car to drive,almost in the "sports saloon" class.Hydralic brakes arrived in 1952 and the car continued to sell well throughout the world.Production continued until 1953 when the company packed in.The Jowett car club is the oldest one make club in the world!1923. |
